New store opening case study

THE BRIEF

To support the B&Q Marketing team and print and install over 2,400 bespoke POS items. Work within a three week window prior to the new store opening date of B&Q's tenth new B&Q Local store in Staines. All the new POS to be produced on PVC-free materials.

BACKGROUND

B&Q Local is a new, smaller high street format providing customers with speed, convenience and access to B&Q’s wider offer of products and services but closer to home.

The new compact 4,000sq.ft. store will offer 3,500 products, available either in store for immediate pick-up or next day Click & Collect. The store also has access to over 30,000 additional home improvement products for home delivery.

DELIVERY

We worked closely with B&Q's Store Support Office and in-store teams to print and deliver the POS direct to store and manage implementation. This included briefing and working with the store colleagues to ensure all messaging was in the right place for the big opening on 26th January 2024.

Our in-house finishing department ensured all POS deliveries were labelled clearly and packed to assist the fitters.

Before....

After.

INSTALLATION

Our high-level installers fit the directional and hanging signage. The low-level installation team worked with merchandisers to install all low-level POS to approved planograms.

Any snagging lists or new POS requirements were raised by installers and produced and delivered to store within 48 hours for installation. This customer service ensures the store opening date does not move and the the team delivers a high level of consistency across stores.
